Mayor Chu on India Spring Carnival in New Taipei
India, home of Buddhism, and land of civilization. I have visited India twice, and was deeply impressed by the rapid development in infrastructure and software of India.
Since 2004, the annual India Cultural Festival has been held in Xizhi District of New Taipei. And starting this year, India's representation in Taiwan, India-Taipei Association hosted for the first time "2017 Indian Spring Carnival" at the Civic Plaza of New Taipei City Hall. Not only was Indian dance and music performances were showcased, visitors also tried on traditional Sarees and Mehndi, a temporary tattoo on hands. Indian food was particularly welcome.
India is a great land of 1.3 billion people, and has become a major player in international community. We are grateful to Dr. Sridharan Madhusudhanan, Director General of ITA for initiating the cultural cooperation with us.
